Laboratory and Pilot Test Unit (Allrounder 15)

The Allrounder 15 is a universal laboratory and pilot test unit for carrying out experiments in the field of nano-, ultra- and microfiltration. It was specially developed for membrane screenings and scale-up tests.

In the version described here, the Allrounder has three test units, a test cell for flat membranes (here about 270 cm²), a pressure tube for a mono-channel membrane (here 6 mm) and a pressure tube for a technical spiral-wound module (here 2,5”). Other modules (such as hollow fibre) can be integrated at any time. In a single trial on laboratory scale, flat membranes can be directly compared with tubular membranes. The pressure in both test units is identical, but the volume flow freely adjustable. Subsequent to the membrane screening, an upscaling with technical modules (2,5”- or 4” spiral-wound module, 19-channel-ceramic module, and others) can be carried out directly. The universal equipment of the system and the arbitrary use of different types of membranes allow experiments across the entire range of industrial membrane applications

The system described here has an automated controller. However, it can also be designed as a PLC controlled and/or fully-automated system. The process parameters are variable and can be adjusted individually at any time. All measurement and control data can optionally be recorded, standardized and visualized via an external data acquisition system. The test data are stored in a format readably by excel.

Field of use:

  • Comparative experiments with parallel operation of tubular and flat membranes on laboratory scale
  • Scale-up- experiments with technical membrane modules
  • Experiments with different membrane types, membrane materials and membrane geometries
  • Experiments to optimize process parameters of industrial applications
  • Cleanability experiments of membranes

Further technical informations are given in the Data Sheet.
