Production Test Unit
The production test unit (LSta05-PLC) can be used flexible to carry out quality assurance tests in the field of micro- and ultrafiltration. It was specially developed according to customer requirements in order to carry out a quality check during membrane production.
The test conditions with the associated test parameters (e.g., overflow, pressure, rinsing conditions, cleaning conditions, tolerance ranges, etc.) are preconfigured on an external computer and stored as a routine file. In this way, customized routine files can be created for all of the different types of membranes. After transmission of the routine files to the computer of the production test stand, the previously defined test parameters can´t be altered by the operator of the test stand. For quality test, the operator only need to start the appropriate routine file, enter the membrane characteristics (e.g., batch or production number), equip the test cell with membrane to be tested and start the system. This ensures that every operator always run the same test parameters specified by the routine file. A traffic light function shows the operator already during the test, whether the tested membrane is moving within or outside the tolerances specified by the routine file. The logging of the test results is completely automated. After each quality test, a PDF file is generated, in which all important test results are documented and visualized in form of numerical values, diagrams and traffic light display. This allows a complete documentation of the quality control. In addition, all sensor values are recorded during the quality test and stored in an excel-readable format including the information entered by the operator (header). After a successful test, the system is automatically returned to a clean state and is ready for the next quality control.
